Jason Munroe / Whitby: reported trial activity
CP24’s August 21, 2026 report names Baker as the trial judge. It reports that he accepted self-defence for the confrontation inside the home, acquitted Munroe of the charges related to that conduct, and convicted him over later reckless discharge from the porch at intruders fleeing in a car, as well as obstruction of a peace officer.
The reported sentence was a 729-day conditional sentence followed by three years of probation. Reporting says the Court of Appeal rejected the Crown’s request for a harsher sentence. These are attributed news findings, not our independent reading of full official reasons.
